WALK IN LONDON MAY/JUNE 21 MILE CHALLENGE JUNE 2012 If anyone is interested in organising the 21 mile challenge in June 2012,
please contact Tracey Davies (01525 374429). The past four challenges have been
based at Berkhamstead, Woburn, Ashridge Estate and Wendover. This allows the
walkers to use the facilities, and walkers to drop off and pick up on sections
of the walk if they do not want to do the 21 miles. Ring Tracey if any more
details are needed. LONDON BLIND CLUB JULY 2012 SUMMER EVENING WALKS SUNDAY 1ST JULY-TUESDAY 31ST JULY 2012 B.B.Q JULY 2012 (VENUE NEEDED) WALK AND BOAT TRIP COACH TRIP TO BATH SEPTEMBER LONG WEEKEND TO NORTH DEVON OCTOBER 2012 It has been suggested that the LBR have a 3 night break in the Autumn in
addition to the Spring Break. Lynton in North Devon has been selected and I have
enquired about the 'Valley of Rocks' Hotel with Shearings. The cost of a 3 night
break starting on Friday 5th Oct 2012 is £99 pp half board, with a single supplement of £2.50 per night (There are 9 single rooms). There is also a supplement of £5.50 pppn for a 'Sea View' room, and the Hotel also has 4 Superior rooms at a supplement of £12.50 pppn (2 of these
Superior rooms are 'Sea View' rooms so both supplements would apply). If you are
interested please let me know, SPRING BREAK APRIL 2013 MOORSIDE GRANGE HOTEL AND SPA, DISLEY The rather unique Best Western Moorside Grange Hotel and Spa is one of the Peak District's best kept secrets and indeed one of the most popular hotels in the Peak District. Visit their website at www.moorsidegrangehotel.com Full details to follow in the summer programme. CAR SHARING Our group encourages car sharing, and walkers often meet at the Library Car Park or Tiddenfoot Leisure Centre. Drivers appreciate it when a voluntary contribution is made by passengers. At the AGM (2008) it was decided that a £2.00 per person, per Journey, is made to the driver. This is considered a reasonable amount to cover the costs incurred by the driver.
